Who We Are

Who We Are

At Great Oaks Fellowship, we exist to say yes to Jesus in every area of our lives, and we're excited to meet you and walk with you as you discover how to live this out in your own life.

Our vision comes from Isaiah 61 - a picture of God restoring what is broken and planting His people as “great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory” (Isaiah 61:3 NLT). We believe this is the kind of transformation He wants to bring to you, your family, and our city.

We don't take ourselves too seriously, but we take Jesus and the Bible very seriously. Come as you are and experience home!

Our Values

At Great Oaks Fellowship, we value S.A.F.E. Community. S.A.F.E. stands for Seen, Accountability, Fellowship, & Encouragement.

Seen

To know others and to be known

Accountability

To cheer one another on to be all God has called us to be

Fellowship

To be present and enjoy the journey together.

Encouragement

To speak life and celebrate the value in one another

OUR MISSION

We exist to say yes to Jesus in every area of our lives.

Our Strategy

GET CONNECTED

GET CONNECTED

We all have the opportunity to exchange our lives for the life of Christ. When we do, we're connected to God in a powerful way. We want to help everyone understand their new identity in Christ and how it connects with everyday life.

ENGAGE IN COMMUNITY

ENGAGE IN COMMUNITY

We aren't meant to face life's challenges and celebrate life's joys on our own — we need each other. A significant part of saying yes to Jesus is building relationships and growing together so we encourage every person to engage in biblical community.

PURSUE YOUR CALLING

PURSUE YOUR CALLING

All of us have a part to play in the story God is telling. How has He gifted you? Where is He inviting you to serve? We believe that everyone can answer those questions and find a place to live out the calling God has given you.

Our Story

How It All Started...

How It All Started...

Great Oaks Fellowship is a church plant of Grace Point Church, a church started in November 1992 as a mission of Castle Hills First Baptist Church, with a vision to reach the growing population of San Antonio. In the summer of 2014, Grace Point opened a second location on San Antonio's far west side, near 1604 W and Shaenfield Rd - the Grace Point West Campus.

Expanding the Vision...

Expanding the Vision...

In August of 2019, Pastor David Martin was brought on as Lead Pastor at Grace Point West and the church experienced God's blessings through steady growth and significant influence in the city of San Antonio.

Where We Are Now...

On September 11, 2022, Grace Point West stepped into its new season as an autonomous church - Great Oaks Fellowship!

Great Oaks Fellowship's influence is realized through exchanged lives, baptisms, student ministry, kids' ministry, adult ministries, life groups, and local and global missions. Great Oaks' staff and members are committed to a comfortable, lifestyle evangelism—an ongoing pursuit of saying yes to Jesus in every area of our lives.
