You said yes to Jesus

WELCOME TO THE FAMILY!

Your First Steps

Whether you were sitting in one of our services or watching from somewhere across the country, welcome to the family. Saying yes to Jesus is just the beginning of an incredible journey, and we don't want you to take those first steps alone. Below you'll find some practical next steps to help you build a solid foundation and find real community, wherever you are.

We'd also encourage you to start with this 6-day devotional on YouVersion: "I Raised My Hand" — it's a great companion for these first few days.

Baptism

GET BAPTIZED

Jesus was baptized, and He invites us to follow His example. Baptism is a public declaration of what's already happened in your heart, and it's one of the most meaningful steps you can take as a new follower of Jesus.

The Bible says that all professing Christians should be baptized (Matthew 28:18-20). Whether you've been following Jesus for a long time and have never been baptized or are a new Christian, we would be honored to baptize you!

At Great Oaks

At Great Oaks: We'd be honored to baptize you! We host Baptism Sundays throughout the year, typically on the first Sunday of the month. Sign up below, and we'll walk you through everything.

Not Local?

Reach out to a Bible-believing church near you and let them know you'd like to be baptized. Any pastor would love to make that happen for you.

Foundations

LEARN THE FOUNDATIONS OF YOUR FAITH

Every new believer has questions, and that's a great thing. Taking time to understand what you believe and why will set you up for a lifetime of growing closer to Jesus. Topics like prayer, the Bible, worship, and sharing your faith are all great places to start.

At Great Oaks

Our Foundations class is a 10-week journey through the building blocks of the Christian faith, designed especially for people who are new to following Jesus (or want a refresher). We'd love to have you join us.

Not Local?

Ask a church near you if they offer a new believers class or discipleship course. You can also start by reading the Gospel of John. It's one of the best introductions to who Jesus is. A plan like "I Raised My Hand" on YouVersion is another great option to guide your reading.

Biblical Community

FIND YOUR PEOPLE

Following Jesus was never meant to be a solo journey. One of the best things you can do right now is find a community of people who will encourage you, pray with you, and do life alongside you.

At Great Oaks

Get plugged in with biblical community here at Great Oaks Fellowship through Fellowship Groups and Adult Ministries! Check out the different Adult Ministries (Men, Women, Marriage, Young Adults, & 55+) and Fellowship Groups at the link below.

Not Local?

Look for a local church that teaches the Bible and get plugged in - even just showing up consistently on Sundays is a great first step. If you're not sure where to start, websites like ChurchFinder.com or asking a Christian friend for a recommendation can help.
